Proof your crafting is getting better (I have receipts) 📸
Morning! Do you find it incredibly easy to get caught up in the mindset of "I'm not making any progress, and I am not getting any better", especially when it comes to something like crafting? I know it happens to me often. It can be difficult to measure your progress when you don't have two projects in front of you to compare. Or perhaps we aren't looking at them regularly to take note of the progress we are making. And while you may be able to complete some projects, you aren't realising that a project you would have been way too scared to make 6 months or a year ago - you can absolutely breeze through now. It's hard to see progress unless we stop and take note of what we have achieved, and realise to ourselves: You know what, I can do this!...because I have ALREADY done this! Lately, I have been having that feeling that I am not getting closer to my goals, or that they are always JUST out of reach - until I realised that I had an anniversary coming up, and it made me pause and realise just how far I have come in this short time. And even though I often feel like I can't do *insert the doubt flavour of the week here*, what I have already created proves me wrong, time and again. Last week I shared on Facebook that it was my YouTube channel's Five-Year Anniversary (can you believe it?!), and I felt that it came at the perfect time for me. I look back on the last five years and realise that I have done so much, and improved on so many things that 5 years ago - I wouldn't have ever considered possible. Over 62 000 people have subscribed. I have created nearly 250 tutorial videos, that have been watched over 4 million times. 🤯 (still is hard for me to wrap my head around these numbers to be completely honest). All because I didn't give up - because I knew that if I carried on trying, and learning - I would create the thing. And looking back on the last five years made me wonder - how many times have I avoided doing a particular craft because I didn't think I was capable? Probably too many times. But the truth is: we are all capable of learning new, fun things - and we have an incredible track record to show for it. Yes, some may require a bit more patience than others - but as long as we keep making progress and learning - we will get there. I know Print Then Cut is the one most people shy away from the most (I totally get why), but I also feel it's so misunderstood, and if you can just grab the basics - you can make SO MANY FUN THINGS?! (I get way too excited about this 😅) Just look at all of the incredible crafts you have already learned to make - why is Print Then Cut any different? You have learned other things - probably way more tricky than Print Then Cut - so start telling yourself: I can learn new things!!It's one of the reasons I so desperately wanted to be a speaker at Mim Jenkinson's Sticker Making Summit this year (I think I emailed her about it MONTHS in advance - I'm not even kidding 😅). I knew it was going to be a super fun event, with a great variety of crafting projects you can learn from - and it is JUST around the corner 🤩🤩 So if you haven't tried Print Then Cut yet, or just want to learn some new sticker-making skills, make sure you sign up for the Sticker Making Summit that is kicking off next week 🤩🤩🤩 It is a quick 3-day event packed with incredible workshops all about things so many people love - STICKERS!!! 🤩 Can't wait to hear all about what you end up making 💚 I'm off to make some dinner quickly before my fun Members Only Livestream on YouTube tonight, so I hope this helps you just a little bit today 💚 And remember - be kind to someone today!
